NINE FEET DIAMETER WATERWHEEL DRIVING PUMPS (NOT PRESENT) TO PUMP WATER FROM SPRING FED, UNDERGROUND CISTERN TO LONGHILLS HALL, BRANSTON HALL AND OTHER VILLAGE USERS. THE GAS ENGINE WAS PROBABLY ADDED IN 1924 TO PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTARY POWER. IT WAS IN SERVICE UNTIL C.1950. FOUNDATIONS OF BUILDING AND BED OF LATER GAS ENGINE. RAM PUMP AND PIPING ETC. IT WAS BUILT BY CHARLES HETT IN 1879. {1}
