Full Description
A Palaeolithic flint handaxe of Acheulian type was found in 1982, during the building on a new bypass at Heckington. The axe was found within gravel, extracted for the building of the bypass from a pit dug at grid reference TF 134 447. The axe measured 105mm from point to butt, and was 72mm at its maximum width. {1}{2}{3}
