Full Description

PRN 60367 Late 2nd to 4th century pottery and lava quern fragment found in 1959 and 1961. The site was visited and reported to have very shallow topsoil with much stone evident in the plough.{1} The pottery included some Samian, but was mostly 3rd to 4th fabrics. Also included a fragment of 'face-jar'. In 1976 an amphora handle was reported. Seven stone coffins were reported as found during the Second World War.{2}{3} The 1961 finds are in the City and County Museum.{4}
