Full Description
PRN 60358
A large area of complex cropmarks, including enclosures, hut circles and boundary ditches, is visible on aerial photographs. These are likely to represent a late Iron Age and/or Romano-British settlement. They may represent several phases of occupation and may be related to the other cropmarks of similar age in the area (e.g. PRNs 60110, 60347, 64702). {3}
Romano-British pottery and building material was visible in the area of TF 085 390 after deep ploughing in 1959. Perambulation of the area in 1965 revealed Romano-British pottery and building material. Two quern stones have also been recovered from this site. {1}{2}
Further finds of Romano-British pottery (at TF 086 385 and TF 0857 3852) and a Roman brooch (at TF 0852 3852) immediately to the south of the area of cropmarks may also be related to this site. {1}{2}
