Full Description

PRN 60311 A flat-topped beacon mound.{1}{2} Upon a lofty eminence here were formerly a beacon which, when lighted in times of danger, might have been seen as far as Swineshead and Donington.{3} An 'Old Beacon' is depicted on the Ordnance Survey First edition map of 1824.{4}
