Full Description

PRN 60287 Walcot Manor House is depicted on the Ordnance Survey County Series map of 1905, along with associated farm buildings (see PRN 64506 - Barn at manor Farm).{1} The Manor House is depicted on later maps.{2}{3} The Manor House appears to be associated with the earthworks of a Medieval Fishpond lying to the west (PRN 60968), and possible settlement earthworks found immediately to the north (see PRN 62680).{1}{2}{3} The present Manor House could have originated in the 17th century (by association with nearby barns PRN 64506). However, this is unsubstantiated.{5} Manor House, Walcot Near Folkingham. Partially extant 19th century farmstead. Regular courtyard with linked working buildings to all four sides of the yard. The farmhouse is detached from the main working complex. There has been a partial loss (less than 50%) of traditional buildings. Located within or in association with a village. {6}
