Full Description
THE MLSR RAILWAY LINE BETWEEN BARNETBY AND GAINSBOROUGH CROSSES A MINOR ROAD FROM GRASBY TO SOUTH KELSEY. IN 1965 THE SITE INCLUDED CROSSING GATES, SEMAPHORE SIGNAL, CROSSING KEEPER'S COTTAGE AND WOODEN HUT. THE CROSSING KEEPER'S COTTAGE IS A TWO STOREY BRICK BUILDING WITH A SLATE ROOF AND A CENTRAL CHIMNEY. THERE IS A BOW WINDOW ON THE GROUND FLLOR WHICH FRONTS THE TRACK. THE BUILDINGS WERE BUILT C.1848. {1}
