Full Description

A scatter of Mesolithic flints was found during field walking conducted in this area in 1958. The assemblage was catalogued as part of the Colonisation of Britain Project, and includes two cores, eleven awls and at least twelve microliths. Some later flints were also recovered from the same area (see MLI53518). All the flints were retained in the private collection of the finder, D.N. Colebrook. {1}{2}{3}{4} A scatter of late Neolithic and/or early Bronze Age flints was found in 1958, during field walking conducted on land to the south-east of the Skipworth Arms, Moortown. The assemblage included a number of leaf arowheads and scrapers, amongst other flints. All the flints were retained in the private collection of the finder, D.N. Colebrook.
