FROM WHITE'S LINCS DIRECTORY: 'A GREAT NUMBER OF HUMAN SKELETONS WERE FOUND IN 1880 IN A FIELD BELONGING TO MR EDMUND WALKER, AND IN THE ADJOINING FIELDS, MANY HORSE SKELETONS; ONE OF THE HUMAN SKELETONS HAS A SPEARHEAD TRANSFIXED IN ITS HEAD.' {1}
