Full Description

PART OF A RIDGE AND FURROW FIELD SYSTEM, WITH FIELD BOUNDARIES. THE CHAPEL SITE LIES IN THE EASTERN PART. THE ENCLOSURE SURROUNDING THE BUILDING WAS CLEARLY LAID OUT ON LAND PREVIOUSLY UNDER CULTIVATION AND SO TRUNCATED FIVE OF THE RIDGES WHICH WERE THERE AFTER PLOUGHED TO A SHORTER LENGTH. ONE WAS SUBSEQUENTLY CUT AWAY BY WHAY MAY BE A HOLLOW WAY FROM EAST TORRINGTON. {1} The area is now under arable cultivation and there are no surviving earthworks. The strips are still visible as soilmarks in the block around the chapel. {4}
