Full Description

A Bronze Age macehead was found in 1961, on land at Legsby. The exact findspot is unknown. The artefact is a particularly fine example of a middle Bronze Age ovoid type C macehead, with a straight-sided perforation, and made from a fine-grained and smoothly polished mottled flint or stone. The wider end shows some signs of battering, despite the hardness of the rock. It was donated to Lincoln Museum. {1}{2}{3}
