Full Description

Cropmarks of probable medieval or post-medieval boundaries and enclosures, to the north-east of Newball. Identified on aerial photography examined as part of the National Mapping Programme. The features were thought to represent the remains of former woodland boundary banks, given the close proximity of Newball Wood, although the remains of ploughed out ridge and furrow to the west and south suggest that some of the features may have been former plough headlands. All of the former banks have now been largely flattenend by modern ploughing, but were visible as cropmarks. {1}{2}
