Full Description

The site of a former smock windmill, moved from Market Rasen in the early 19th century; it ceased work in the 1930s, and was demolished in 1950s or 1960s. It was mapped in 1824. {1}{2} Orignially built in the 18th century, the wooden smock mill off Barlings Lane in Langworth was moved piecemeal from Market Rasen in the early 19th century. A wooden boat-shaped cap predated its ogee cap which is common in Lincolnshire tower mills. The sails, two common and two spring, were removed in 1927. Two pairs of millstones on the first floor, previously wind-powered, continued to be engine driven into the 1930s. The derelict mill was demolished in the 1950s. {3}
