IN WHITE'S LINCS DIRECTORY 1882 CLAIMS THAT 'IN LAYING THE FOUNDATION OF THE NEW BRIDGE IN THAT VILLAGE (LANGWORTH) IN 1823 SEVERAL VERY ANCIENT SPEARHEADS, SPURS AND STIRRUPS WERE FOUND.' A KEY AND BELL WERE ALSO REFERRED TO IN A PADLEY SKETCH IN LAO. {1}{2}
