Full Description

A SCATTER OF THIRD CENTURY ROMAN POTTERY WAS FOUND DURING EXCAVATIONS ON N ANGLO-SAXON SETTLEMENT SITE AT RIBY CROSS ROADS IN 1991. THE POTTERY DERIVES FROM THE MANURING OF ARABLE FIELDS IN ALL PROBABILITY. IT CONSISTED ALMOST ENTIRELY OF GREY WARE BODY SHERDS AND IS PROBABLY LATER SECOND AND THIRD CENTURY DATE. {1}
