Full Description

Earthwork remains of medieval ridge and furrow to the east of Fiskerton, identified on aerial photography by the National Mapping Programme. {1} Parts of the ridge and furrow in this area had been previously mapped during a field walking project, conducted in the 1970s. {2} Traces of the ridge and furrow were recorded during trial trenching in June 2014, on land to the north of the factories on Ferry Road (PRN 52913a - TF 0601 7202). The remains were identified in the northernmost trench as a series of three parallel linear features, thought to represent the remains of former furrows. The features were spaced c.6m apart and were aligned on a roughly north-west to south-east axis. {3}{4}
