Full Description

The Manor House, east of the church, at the foot of the hill, is mid 18th century, and has a symmetrical front. There are extensive farm buildings of 1868 and an impressive example of a high Victorian planned farm. It was built for Christopher Turnor, and was possibly designed by him. {1} Small country house with attached smithy and stables to rear. Mid 18th century with early 19th century additions. Redbrick with ashlar dressings. Pantile hipped, double ridge roofs with two ridge stacks and single stack on hip at rear. Decorated brick eaves. Two storey and attic. Smithy has tall chimney, a window with segmental head and close set vertical bars, and a doorway beyond. Interior of forge intact. Cart shed attached beyond.
