Full Description

Mill Hill was bulldozed on 29 September 1950. No structural evidence was noted, one sherd of 17th century pottery was found in the mound. {1}{2} It is marked as a tumulus on the first edition Ordnance Survey map of 1824, but is almost certainly a windmill mound. {4} It may well be the site of the windmill recorded at the Manor of South Ingleby in 1304. {5}
