Full Description

52702 Neolithic to late Bronze Age scrapers. {1} A small assemblage of worked flint (15 pieces) was recovered during excavations carried out during a watching brief on a proposed quarry site. The flint ranged in date between Mesolithic and Bronze Age, but the majority of finds were attributable to the late Mesolithic/early Neolithic period. Scrapers and flakes predominated in the assemblage. The finds occurred in the topsoil and as residual in later features. A single fragment of probable Beaker pottery (later Neolithic to early Bronze Age) and a fragment of probable Collared Urn or Food Vessel (earlier to mid Bronze Age) was recovered from a later feature.{2}{3}
