Full Description

Possible Neolithic long barrow seen as a cropmark in an aerial photograph and recorded by the National Mapping Programme. {1} This long barrow is located on the flood plain of the River Witham. It is aligned south-west to north-east, and the long axis traverses the contours. It is an enclosure of oval form, and forms part of a dispersed group of levelled round barrows. {2}{3} This enclosure, when inspected in some aerial photographs, contains water and appears to be a pond that does, when dry, have the appearance of a long barrow cropmark from the air. {4}
