Full Description
BRONZE ROMAN FITMENT, 2 1/4 INS LONG, IN THE SHAPE OF A HUMAN HEAD WITH A LONG NECK. THE TOP OF THE HEAD HAS COMB (AS ON HELMET) OR CURVED CREST ON IT. IT HAS SILVER POINTS FOR EYES. THE BRITISH MUSEUM IDENTIFIED IT AS ROMAN, AND PROBABLY OF THE GOD MARS. {1}{2}
