Full Description
Cast brooch of copper alloy belonging to the Trefoil Headed category and Small-Long Brooches in Leeds' classification, and dating to the 6th century. It was a casual surface find made in 1979-80. Although no exact siting information was available, it was found away from the medieval nucleus of the village, within 500m of some Roman finds and within 200m of a ring ditch. The grid reference used for this findspot may not be entirely accurate. {1}
