Full Description

14th century sword probably found in a shallow trench cut into the surface of the Roman barrow. There is also correspondence stating that the sword was found on the site of the deserted medieval village. {1} While attending a summer school on Local History at Riseholme Farm Insitute, some rusty metal was noticed protruding from the south side of the Roman barrow. The site was visited further but no other finds were recovered. A grid reference for this find is given as SK 982 763 but this is thought to be very tentative. {2}
