Full Description

A monastic grange of Barlings Abbey. Land was granted to Barlings Abbey in the late 12th century. At the dissolution the land was granted to Charles Brandon, Duke of Suffolk. The principal archaeological remains are the standing medieval building encapsulated in the present farmhouse. The earthworks comprise principally a broad low bank orientated north to south. {1}{2}{3} There are photographs of the chapel in Lincoln Central Library as part of the Lincolnshire illustrations collection. {4}
