Full Description

The site of the 4 sail wooden post mill shown on the tithe award map of 1848 is located on the crest of the Jurassic limestone scarp, and marked by a mound that apparently overlies plough ridges. The close with which it stood was mapped in 1772 and the surrounding field was Mill Field in about 1600. {1}
