PRN 52144
DURING AN EVALUATION CARRIED OUT DURING 1994 (CONSISTING OF GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY, FIELDWALKING AND TRIAL EXCAVATION), A SMALL AMOUNT OF ROMAN POTTERY AND SLAG WAS RECOVERED FROM FIELDWALKING. THE GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY IDENTIFIED ANOMALIES RELATING TO THE SLAG. EXCAVATION REVELAED STREAM AND BOG DEPOSITS WHICH CONTAINED ROMAN POTTERY BUT NO ARCHAEOLOGICAL FEATURES WERE OBSERVED. THESE FINDS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH THE NEARBY ROMAN SITE (50550). {1}{2}
