Full Description

Stone pits were documented as being at this location in 1779. {1} A large number of quarries and former stone extraction pits are depicted around Glebe Farm on the 2nd edition 25" Ordnance Survey County Series map. The quarries are of likely post-medieval date, with further pits possibly being hidden by the woodland to the immediate north of the farm, known as 'Pits Plantation'. {2}
