Full Description

St Michael's Church, is now no more than a nave with a bellcote and a chancel, but there was originally a strong Norman north arcade of two bays. It also has a pre conquest knot-work stone and a 10th to 11th century grave cover with three vertical rows of interlace which formed the sill of the west doorway. In 1964 the Saxon stone had been cleaned and stood within the church. {1}{2}{3} A parish church, which was built in about 1175, underwent alterations in the 14th, 15th, 16th and late 18th centuries.
