SETTLEMENT OF USSELBY, THOUGH CONSISTENTLY DOCUMENTED SEPARATELY IN POPULATION SOURCES ONLY SINCE C16, HAS UNDOUBTEDLY BEEN A LARGER NUCLEATION, BUT THE SITE HAS TO A LARGE EXTENT BEEN TAKEN OVER BY USSELBY HALL AND ITS GARDENS. THERE ARE NO SURVIVING EARTHWORKS OR MAP EVIDENCE ON WHICH TO BASE AN ASSESSMENT OF ITS MORPHOLOGY. {1} RIDGE AND FURROW POSSIBLY ASSOCIATED (51991)
