Full Description

A rectangular enclosure marked by a bank and ditch, and encompassing approximately 1 hectare, is visible as an earthwork on early aerial photogrpahs of this area. It was ploughed up at some point prior to 1972, and is of unknown date, though may be associated with Alvingham Priory's bercaria and sheepwalk in this part of the parish. {1} Remains of a rectangular enclosure, to the north of Cold Harbour Farm, Swinhope. Visible as earthworks on aerial photography predating 1972, and as cropmarks on later aerial photography. The enclosure is thought to be of medieval or post-medieval date, and measures roughly 85m by 80m. {2}{3}
