Full Description

PRN 51520 Probable Bronze Age rectangular enclosure cropmark, cut by High Street. {1}{2} Topsoil stripping in advance of the construction of a pipeline revealed two ditches forming part of a complex of Bronze Age enclosures. The ditches were excavated and recorded, and a third ditch was revealed during the watching brief of the pipeline construction. A small amount of Bronze Age pottery was recovered including a flared rim jar fragment and part of a bucket urn with finger-tip decoration. Animal bone was also recovered during the watching brief. The ditches were initially thought to be individual features, but they were later found to be part of a larger complex when the area was photographed from the air. {3}{4}
