PROBABLE ROMAN CROPMARK ENCLOSURES. {1}
RECTANGULAR SITE OBSERVED FROM THE AIR. INTERNAL 'ROADS' ALSO OBSERVED DURING DROUGHT. {2}
'Ladders' of 4 separate blocks of enclosures of similar size, slotted onto a Wolds spur west of Kirmond le Mire villa. Each block shows regular subdivisions suggestive of deliberate planning; the south east block is longer and shows traces of features extending to the valley bottom. Fieldwalking yielded tegulae fragments, a few greyware sherds, oyster shell and a possible flint scraper. {3}
