Full Description

Two scatters of 3rd and 4th century pottery, tile and stone. The main concentration is located at SK 9946 8135, the other at SK 9956 8135. The area was ploughed up in 1959. The farmer reports that a small area at SK 9947 8152 always throws up the plough. {1}{2} Romano-British coarse grey pottery was found on the surface in a concentrated area in 1959 at SK 994 813. The pottery is now in Lincoln Museum. There were possible indications of a rectangular building 50 feet by 20 feet and a circular hut 15 feet in diameter. There was also lumps of greenish clay within the area of the stones. {3} A track of pitched stones about six inches wide leading south-east was ploughed up. {4}{5}{6}{7}
