Full Description

A well-polished flint axe although Jarvis describes it as 'a celt of veined stone, not flint' found by a labourer in draining work in January 1869 at Cold Hanworth, at a depth of about 3 feet in clay and sand. It measures 6.125 inches (15.5cm) in length, the breadth at the cutting edge is about 2.5 inches (6.3cm). {1}{2}{3}
