Full Description

ROMAN GREYWARE POTTERY, ONE SHERD OF COLOUR-COATED, AND AN AMPHORA RIM FOUND DURING WORK TO LOCATE FIELD DRAINS, AND REPORTED IN 1970. THE FINDER REPORTED AN AREA AT LEAST 50 YARDS SQUARE WHERE THE NATURAL SUBSOIL HAD BEEN DISTURBED TO SEVERAL FEET. ALL THE FINDS CAME FROM THIS DISTURBED AREA. OTHER UNDATED FINDS INCLUDED ANIMAL BONES - PROBABLY COW, AND METALWORK. {1}
