Type and Period (4)

Protected Status/Designation

Full Description

Cropmarks of a small, (possibly Romano-British) settlement, first reported by Derek Riley in 1971, and seen on aerial photographs by Mike Felcey and Paul Everson in 1977. A series of regular rectangular ditched enclosures, aligned north to south, some with traces of internal features, appear to be arranged along a roughly east to west axis, with possible trackways. A larger double-ditched sub-rectangular enclosure lies on the north side of the main group of enclosures. The whole complex is clearly of several phases. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}{6}
