Full Description

WORKED FLINTS AND A BARBED AND TANGED ARROWHEAD FOUND BY ETHEL RUDKIN. IN 1964 COLQUHOUN REPORTED THAT MRS RUDKIN CONFIRMED THE FIND SPOT AND THAT IT WAS UNDER MODERN FARMING. {1} THE SMR CARD HAS A BARBED AND TANGED ARROWHEAD AT SK93979367 - POSSIBLY AN ADDITIONAL FIND? {2} PREHISTORIC ENCLOSURES HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED AT THIS LOCATION. {3} A geophysical survey of this site prior to construction of a gas pipeline revealed two very weak and diffuse linear features which could represent ditches. However they may be field drains. {4} A watching brief carried out during construction of the same pipeline encountered no archaeological finds or features. {5}
