Full Description

A fragment of a rim of a bronze hanging bowl was found before 1932. The find spot was located in 1964. {1} A twisted piece of highly patinated bronze was found on a ploughed field at Willoughton. This is the last remains of a hanging bowl which has been hopelessly ruined by agricultural implements. No escutcheons have survived. From the same site come parts of a bronze buckle and another bronze fragment of the Anglo-Saxon age. {3} For a detailed description of the hanging-bowl fragment see the Antiquaries Journal 1932. {5}
