Full Description

AN ANGLO-SAXON ENAMELLED BRONZE DISC ESCUTCHEON FOUND IN 1943 BY ETHEL RUDKIN. THE FIND-SPOT WAS CONFIRMED BY MRS RUDKIN IN 1964. {1}{2} A BRONZE DISC-ESCUTCHEON BEARING RICH TRUMPET PATTERN, WITH TRACES OF RED ENAMEL IN THE FIELD. FOUND IN LONG CLOSE ('STRAWSON'S HILL'), A HILLSIDE FIELD TO THE NORTH OF THE VILLAGE.
