Full Description

A LARGE TOWER MILL, BUILT IN 1856 ON THE SITE OF A SUBSCRIPTION MILL (SEE PRN 50906). IT WAS WORKED BY WIND UNTIL THE LATE 1930s, THEN POWER DRIVEN. THE CAP REMAINED WITH A FANTAIL UNTIL DEMOLITION IN c1972-3. {1}~ RECORDED IN THE 1960s AS HAVING NONE OF THE ORIGINAL FITTINGS, BUT IN GOOD CONDITION AND IN USE FOR ELECTRICAL-POWERED GRAIN MILLING. THE TOWER WAS OF 5 STOREYS. {2}~, HEIGHT 16.8M, DIAMETRE 6.4M
