Full Description
A Roman bronze coin (a follis of Maximian) was found in a field north-east of Atterby in 1976. The obverse inscription reads: 'DN MAXIMIANO PF S AUG'. The reverse inscription reads: 'GENIO POP ROM'. It was produced by the London mint in AD307. See Roman Imperial Coinage vol.6 no.85. {1}
