Full Description

A windmill is shown at this site on Bryant's 1" to the mile map of the county of Lincoln, published in 1828. {1} The windmill is not depicted on the 1st edition 6" Ordnance Survey County Series map, although a small rectangular ditched enclosure is depicted. This enclosure very likely surrounded the former windmill. {2} The remains of the rectangular enclosure are clearly visible as a cropmark on Tom Hayes aerial photographs. {3} This small close has now been removed but still shows as a cropmark. The cropmark was also visible at ground level, measuring roughly 50m in length by 40m in width. {4}
