THE SETTLEMENT OF SNITTERBY WAS SMALL AND HAD A MANOR WITH NO RECORDED POPULATION IN 1086, AND WAS DEPLETED IN LATER C14 AND C15. ITS LAYOUT IS BASED ON AN EAST-WEST STREET PARALLEL WITH THE SNITTERBY BECK. FRAGMENTARY EARTHWORKS AT ITS WEST END RECORDED ON EARLY AP'S EXTEND AND EMPHASIZE THIS AXIS. {1}{2}
