Full Description

A polished Neolithic stone axe was found by Mrs Rudkin on the bank of the River Eau, to the east of Scotton. Although broken, the greater part of the axe was present, which was slender and thin-butted with flattened sides, and measured nearly 17cm long. The field containing the findspot was walked after ploughing in 1964, although no associated features could be discerned. {1}{2}{3}
