Full Description

A MASSIVE AND WELL-PRESERVED MILL DAM, CONCEALED IN WOODLAND, JUST WEST OF ERMINE STREET. THE DAM IS A FLAT-TOPPED BANK, 75M LONG, 4-5M IN MAXIMUM HEIGHT AND 10M WIDE AT THE BASE, SPANNING A SMALL VALLEY WITH A STREAM RUNNING EAST DOWN THE LIMESTONE DIP-SLOPE. THERE IS A CENTRAL GAP FOR THE STREAM, WOODWORK IN THE CHANNEL AND DRYSTONE WALLING IN THE BANK'S ERODED FACE ON EITHER SIDE. {1}~, LENGTH 75M, WIDTH 10M, HEIGHT 5M
