Full Description

50721 A late Neolithic/early Bronze Age occupation site. The evidence for the prehistoric occupation includes a small polished greenstone celt, barbed and tanged flint arrowheads, thumb scrapers, pigmy flints, cores, flakes and hammerstones. In addition a stone axe was found at TA06860145. In 1963 the site was in a field, previously ploughed but then fallow. The farmer had a few worked flints from the field, found in recent years. Scunthorpe Museum retains a representative selection of the material. {1} A late Neolithic/early Bronze Age occupation site.
