An area of woodland (27 hectares of which classified as semi-natural and the remaining 8 hectares classified as plantation) included in the Nature Conservancy Council's 'Inventory of Ancient Woodland'. Ancient woodland status considered to be highly probable. 'Central Lincolnshire Limewoods SSSI'; Forest Nature Reserve; Nature Conservation Review Site Grade 1. {1}
