IN THE CHURCHYARD AT NETTLEHAM ARE THE REMAINS OF A MEDIEVAL CROSS BASE MEASURING ABOUT 28 INCHES BY 41.5 INCHES WITH THE SOCKET 12 INCHES SQUARE AND 8 INCHES DEEP. ORIGINALLY A LARGE DECORATED BASE, LATER BROKEN. ADJACENT TO THE BASE IS A VERY FINE EXAMPLE OF A C14 STONE COFFIN. {1}{2}
