Full Description
An enclosed area known locally as Temple Garth. The placename would suggest a possible medieval monastic association; Willoughton preceptory is known to have held property in Tealby. {1}
The Knights Templar are recorded to have held land in Tealby, and Temple Garth may have been their property. If it was Templar land, the enclosure would have passed to the Knights Hospitaller after their suppresion in 1310. {2}
