Full Description

All Saints Church has some Norman masonry but it is largely Perpendicular in style. {1}{2}{3} Stained glass in this church, some of which is in situ, dates to the early 14th century. {4} The parish church dates from the 12th century with alterations or additions in the 13th, early 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. The chancel was re-modelled by James Fowler in 1872 and the tower restored in 1881-84. It contains many interesting features, including memorials to the Tennyson family, and is the focal point of the village. The churchyard is surrounded by a stone wall which was recently restored. {6}
